Kristen is a passionate musician who enjoys using her talents to help others develop their musical potential. A recent college graduate, Kristen earned a Bachelor’s of Music in Piano Performance and a Bachelor’s of Science in English from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Along with her piano studies, Kristen has continued to refine her skills as a violinist through active participation in chamber ensembles, regular performances with the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra, and private lessons with the BMSO concertmaster, Everaldo Martinez. Kristen has also been an active accompanist for vocalists, solo instrumentalists, choirs, and other various ensembles. During her college years, she taught music lessons to students in the community and was a member of the Music Teachers National Association.
Upon graduation, Kristen moved from her home in the Midwest to be closer to friends and family in Oak Ridge, TN. In addition to teaching at Bill Jones Music, she currently works at her home church in Oak Ridge as music coordinator. A former homeschooled student, Kristen also enjoys using her experience to help other homeschool families through private tutoring and/or music lessons. When she is not keeping busy with music, Kristen appreciates a good book, quality time with family and friends, and exploring the great outdoors in her new Tennessee home.
