Katie Howe

Piano / Voice / Music Together Teacher / Knox County Homeschool Chorus Director

Katie, a 2006 graduate of Mississippi College, holds her Bachelor of Arts in Music and her minor in studio Art.  While at Mississippi College, she held multiple leadership roles within her music department, as well as receiving university wide recognition for her leadership skills, receiving the “Freshman Woman of the Year” award and being one of four seniors inducted into the “Hall of Fame”.  She has begun her post graduate work at Belhaven and Samford Universities in music education, and plans to finish at the University of Tennessee.  

Katie’s previous teaching experience includes: private piano and vocal instruction; elementary music, early child hood, secondary special needs, and choral directing at St. Richard Catholic School in Jackson, MS.  She is also a certified swim lesson instructor, and enjoys teaching kids of all ages to swim!

 Katie and her husband Kyle both hold a passion for music.  Katie, who is classically trained, and Kyle, who is a former member of an internationally touring rock band band, enjoy playing together at church, at weddings, and at local shows around town.  While not playing or teaching, Katie (and her husband) enjoy rock climbing, hiking, cycling and most anything else in the great outdoors! 

Katie will be directing our new Knox County HomeSchool Chorus.
