Christine Tai is a native of Taiwan who grew up in Hong Kong. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Pomona College, Claremont, CA, and a Master of Music in Piano Performance & Pedagogy from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Her previous teaching positions include piano faculty at the Piano Academy at the Schoolcraft College (Livonia, MI), University of Michigan Piano Preparatory Laboratory Program (Ann Arbor, MI), and the Lawrence University Academy of Music (Appleton, WI). Her most recent teaching positions have been at MacPhail Center for Music (Minneapolis, MN) and Yinghua Academy (Minneapolis, MN) before coming to Knoxville.
Christine enjoyed twelve years of experiences in teaching group piano classes and private lessons. She has taught from beginning level to advanced students, ages K-12, college students and adults. While teaching in Wisconsin, she was an active adjudicator for Wisconsin Music Teachers Association. She is particularly interested in piano duets and encourages her students to explore opportunities for piano ensemble. She has spent the last few years a full time mother and wife. Eager to get back to teaching she has chosen to teach on Saturdays.
