A native of East Tennessee, Rondo has been playing guitar for over 15 years. He attended Pellissippi State Community College to major in guitar, earning music scholarships as a member of both the bluegrass and jazz ensembles. During this time, he studied guitar with David Slack, Chad Volkers, and Larry Vincent. In addition to guitar, he also studied jazz piano with Dr. Tom Johnson. He eventually moved on to the University of Tennessee where he studied jazz guitar with Mark Boling and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Music & Jazz. He has been teaching independently since 2007 and has professional, live, and studio experience playing many styles of music, including rock, country, bluegrass, pop, blues, classical and jazz.
Rondo regularly performs all across East Tennessee with various local artists and bands, and performs as part of a jazz trio with various musicians in the Knoxville area. He performs at weddings, corporate events, festivals, restaurants, and other private events.
